Miscarriage at 5w - Now what?

Doctor just confirmed what was hinted at during our last ultrasound. There's no heartbeat and I will miscarry this baby. I need to tell the Dr tomorrow if I plan to miscarry naturally, induce it w the pill or have a d&c? Does anyone have a recommendation?

Waiting seems torturous but not sure how o feel about a surgical procedure.

I'd really appreciate some opinions. :(

I had a miscarriage when I was supposed to be 11 weeks and I was only showing 6. I tried passing naturally but it got awful. I was having terrible side effects like nausea, bad bad cramping, dizziness and passing out. And I wasn't passing hardly any tissue so I ended up having to get the d&c to avoid infections or complications. The d&c was quick and minimal pain. Bed rest for 2 days and I was already back to work. This was back in January, I'm 6weeks pregnant now. There's hope. Hang in there.

If ur only 5 weeks u will not see a baby. I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks last Oct & it was just like I started my period. Its gonna be sad either way but don't be scared that u will see it if u decide to go natural. I'm sorry for ur loss. I know no matter how early it happens its astill hard. I wish u the best.

There's no heartbeat and sac looks abnormal. Maybe I stated it incorrectly. I should be most 8 wks but sac looks 5.5.

If you don't mind me asking, what makes them say miscarraige? 5 weeks is pretty early to expect to see a heart beat. Its possible you just ovulated later than you thought. If you are sure it's a miscarriage though, I would opt for the d&c. I've done it both ways and my d&c was so much quicker, way less bleeding and personally less painful emotionally. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I've had two miscarriages this year I'm so very sorry for your loss. My first I did a d&c and my second I let it pass naturally. Honestly, they are both hard, but if I ever had to choose again I would choose a d&c  for the simple fact of having to see your baby come out and then just flush it. It's heartbreaking. Anyways I hoped this helps

I would say do the D&C.  Drs waited for me to miscarry naturally and it actually caused feritility issues for me.  now if they were to tell me i needed to do it naturally i'd be flipping out on them.

First of all I'm so sorry to hear about you having to miscarry. I've never miscarried but I can empathize with the pain. If it's official that your baby is not going to survive then I would just induce to prevent the torture of anaturally miscarry. I'm the type to just accept and try to move on. So I would induce. Good luck and don't give up. I know God will bless you with another baby.
