No heartbeat

Hi Everyone,

As per my first ultrasound i m 9 week pregnant but my embryo progress us equivelant to 6 weeks only. There is no heartbeat and size of baby is only 0.5 cm. I am not sure how they calculate age because i had sex on 12 june only and my period date was 17 june which was missed. So based on this pregnancy must be about 7 weeks only. Is anyone having similar situtation? I am not having any health issues and all others tests are normal. Also there is not any cramping os spotting. Please help with ur comments.

Hi, I went in at 6 weeks and no heartbeat was detected but the doctor wanted to wait another week to make sure it was really a miscarriage. My husband and I were already preparing for the worst because I've had 2 prior MCs, also no heartbeat during my first US (at 8 wks). We went back the following week, this time the Rolls Royce of ultrasound machines was used. To our complete shock, a heartbeat was detected and the embryo was measuring 7 weeks. I am praying this one will be a strong healthy baby! Good luck and ask your doctor to double check!

Ya, I still think you are a little early. My doctor wouldn't schedule an appt until I was 8-9 weeks for fear of not being able the heartbeat... prayers!

Try not to stress out. Just do everything right and hopefully when you go back they will have more positive news. Early on you wont see or hear a heartbeat.

I'm sorry to hear this as I'm sure you are concerned. What did the doctor said?  When do you see them again?
