Overdue: anyone else? How did you deal, if youve already experienced it?

3 days past 2 date. They told me I've been 1st stage for 2 days. I'm not dilating enough. I have really painful contractions, but they aren't close enough. So basically for two days I've been in pain and haven't slept much. And on top of it I believe I've gotten sick. How do I deal? I just want to find ways to be less miserable.      Have tried: Tylenol, Benadryl, heating pads, extra fluids, hot/warm showers, and any nap I can manage to get in.

I'm trying to keep as relaxed as I can, but it's proving difficult. Still in pain. Apparently i now have (a puppp) rash all over my stomach. Still not having much luck and catching whatever sleep I can without being interrupted, which isn't much. Definitely am sick on top of everything else. It's making it hard to be positive about everything. Just trying to focus on the fact that I'll meet my daughter soon. (Yes first and probably only baby to whomever asked)

That's so sad to hear but I do agree get as much rest as you can and enjoy your time now even tho it's really hard to I'm due in 8days but my body hurts so badly I'm constantly having contractions but nothing significant just very uncomfortable feet swollen body swollen but I had to think like this is the last time I even will be pregnant as I plane on getting my tubes tied and I have a 4 year old a 6 year old and a 5 year old 15 year old and an 11 year old so I'm ok trying not to rush him out I never have free time even when they are at school.,. I'm washing cleaning cooking and trying to prepare for the next day.... My point is I feel bad that your so  uncomfortable but enjoys and take advantage of the time you have to yourself it will be over very soon.... Good luck

I was 10 days overdue with my first.  TEN long days.  I could hardly walk.  But, in retrospect, that was the last time it was all about ME.  me me me.  (ha ha).  So, it is hard waiting and terribly uncomfortable but this is your last chance to sit and watch a tv show uninterrupted, read a book, sleep whenever you feel like it, etc.  Pretty soon your life will be dictated by a little person that you happily turn things over to . . .   but none the less, enjoy the quiet of your house, the ability to do as you please right now when you want to, leaf through a good magazine, take a long bath, etc.  Those things get much trickier when baby is here.  So, keep that in mind and the day baby is born will be here before you know it and maybe, just maybe, your mind on a hectic day down the road where you were up all night, have spit up on your shirt, and baby just won't settle down . . .    your thoughts will drift back to that good book you read the week before baby arrived.  :>)  good luck
