Pic from dating Ultrasound?

Hi all! I have my dating ultrasound next week. I'll be 7.5 wks. Will we be able to see anything on the screen? Or hear/see a heartbeat? Is it that kind of Ultrasound? First child so any insight is great. Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for your insight! Just had my dating ultrasound. Nice heartbeat at 170bpm and I saw the little peanut! Husband is so happy. :)

(Continued) but you'll get an even better view of it beating away at your 12 week scan :)
All the best!

It'll look like a jelly bean, and the tech will point out the yolk sack that will eventually become the placenta a few weeks later. The heartbeat is too faint for you to hear but the tech will show you it beating. They can also tell you the rate it's going.
In qld (not sure where you live) they don't let you hear the heartbeat until your appointment at 18-20 weeks with your midwife

I was amazed to see a beautiful flutter of heartbeat at my 7 week dating appointment. Not everyone does, but it was an exciting moment for me. I wasn't expecting anything so my wasn't with me. We were both bummed he'd missed it.

It likely will be a sonogram, but transvaginal (internal- they insert a scope). Be prepped to really empty your bladder ahead of time to get the best picture!

Your be able to see the sac with a little peanut inside. You can see ultrasound videos and  images on youtubes if you wanted to see what to expect at your ultrasound.
It will all feel more real seeing baby on the ultrasound screen.
Congratulations

You will be able to see something but it honestly looks more like a little peanut blob than anything. With  first I had to have the dr point it out multiple times.

You should be able to hear at least a faint heartbeat but...sometimes that takes a few more weeks and it's normal.

Congrats on your baby!
