Positive pregnancy test after miscarriage?

6 weeks ago I had a miscarriage. 3 weeks ago I went to the dr for a follow up and had an ultra sound and he said everything looked good and I had completely miscarried. He checked my HCg. I don't know what the exact count was but he said it was coming down. This past week I've still been experiencing pregnancy like symptoms, nausea indigestion. Out of curiosity I took a pregnancy test tonight and it was still positive. I haven't been with my partner since the miscarriage so I know I'm not pregnant again. Does anyone know about how long it takes for the HCg to go back all the way down and any reason why I could still be getting a positive test? I have another appt on Thursday so I know I'll get some answers then but I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else and what the reason could be.

After my first misscarriage it took a full 3 weeks for pregnancy tests to be negative and 6 weeks for a period. It will probably be negative soon.

It takes a while for some people's levels to go back down.
