Possible miscarry?

So I had my HCG drawn on Wednesday which would have been 5w1d. HCG was 13514. Have had contact cramps (like menstraul) since learning I was pregnant. Back pain started around 4w6d. Ended up going to hospital on Thursday night due to back pain being so severe. Had to make them do u/s and draw blood. U/s showed gestational sac with yolk but no fetal pole yet. Blood work came back at 15,524. Er made me leave telling me to call OB.

Called OB in morning and they are concerned about HCG that didn't double. It's rising but didn't double. They sent me for blood work yesterday. Won't know results until Monday.  Doctor didn't seem to assuring when I spoke on the phone. But she also said the back pain wouldn't be a pregnancy issue meanwhile everything I read online says that's a miscarriage sign.

Advice? Experiences with this?

Some people's levels rise a little slower than others and go on to have healthy pregnancy. It can take 48-72 hrs for it to rise or double.

They are right that your hcg should be rising faster than that.  But it is still a big rise so i guess you have to wait and see unfortunately.  If you're not bleeding then i think your dr is right that the back pain unrelated.
