Postpartum question

How soon after giving birth do women typically get their period if not breastfeeding? I had my son via c-section 5 weeks ago, and the postpartum bleeding was minimal until this week. Now, the bleeding is bright red and very heavy, like a period. Is this normal or should I make a visit to the doctor? Thanks for your help.

I had my daughter December 6th, I bled for about 3weeks then it stopped. I just started bleeding again 4 days ago but I think it just depends
