Prilosec

Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it. Thanks :)

Thanks everyone! My sister still has some Zantac from her pregnancy and she's going to let me use here until my next appointment.

My doctor prescribed me Zantac he had a updated list and said it was the safest, plus if u get a prescription u can get the higher dose then over the counter.  I take 150 mg twice a day, if u can't see ur doc go to a walk in or another doc, I was suffering so bad and now I'm fine

Another option is vitamin b6 and unisom.

I called, but was only able to speak with a nurse. She said it's not in the list of approved medicines, but it hasn't been updated recently. I'm pretty sure my doctor said it was okay, but my next appointment isn't until March 18th.

I've had 3 docs prescribe prevacid and prilosec and one who said its bad to have any. I miscarried when I wasnt on anything and the babies I've had are all fine despite the prilosec. Some docs are more cautious. My doc now is a high risk ob/gyn with experience in fetal development issues and he says its fine. Talk to your doc or a different one...its not good to be so miserable you can't eat...for you or baby.

Compare ingredients. If there is anything in prilosec that isn't in zantac, then I wouldn't take it.
