Pumping vs physically breast feeding?

I want to breastfeed, but i don't feel comfortable about physically doing so.
So my plan was to just pump, then give to her through a bottle..
does anyone know if i can start pumping right in the hospital after i deliver? Or do i need the baby to start everything?

I only pumped for 3 weeks witg my first bb bcuz he couldn't latch on n my milk dried up sometimes people can pup for a while n sometimes they need the bb bcuz when the bb is attached to ur boobs it sends a signal to make more but when u jjust pump it doesn't send that signal n they will dry up! I wish u luck!

I feel the same way! I will tell you that I've become a little more open minded about it since daddy looked at me like I had 7 heads when I told him I didn't want yo breast feed he said well what do you like those big old hooters are for???? Lol also I went to a breastfeeding celebration at wic just to get some more info before completely ruling it out but I also asked about pumping and they said of that's what I want to do awesome BC its better than formula

i started at the hospital with my last and it worked out great i pumped every 30- 1.00 and just sent it with the nurse to store until needed its a very small amount at first but by the third day my milk was in and i had ALOT Milk after five months i had to take a medicine for an infection and it cut my milk supply but after my milk was gone i had enough stored in the freezer to be able to give my boy an additional two months :-) i already sterilized and packed my breastpump for when i go into labor with in the next week or so

It dont feel as weird as you would think. Once you start feeding your baby it will become to feel natural.

I did both because of work. Ill tell ya EP is hard its makes your nipples hurt way more and it's so inconvenient ..I think it's great it's important to you to give your little one breast milk but don't knock it before you try it. I would try breast feeding its amazing and you build a strong bond with your little one . Either way good luck

You should be able to pump as soon as your milk comes in:)

You dont need the baby to start it, just the suction stimulation from the pump will get everything started. I breastfed all 3 of my babies and pumped.
