Question for moms who have already had babies

I am a FTM, does anyone know if hospitals usually give you a few essentials like a nasal aspirator to take home with you after you have your baby?

I agree it depends on the hospital.  I got the rest of the pack of diapers plus a new pack, the rest of the wipes, pads for me (new pack), the big water cup, kleenex, her hat and shirt, and a homemade knit hat.  My hospital is a small private practice.

In the uk they give u nothing!! Lol all i had off the hospital were the sanitary pads that were in the cupboard and was told help urself! For baby i got blankets that were tatty so she came home in her own blanket!! Im breast feeding but they dont provide formula u have to take ur own. Dont get me wrong the midwives and hospital staff were amazing its the government that have mesed things up!

I got all sorts of stuff! I'm not sure if I was supposed to take all of it, but I did. I got a few diapers, two baby shirts, a manual breast pump, two of those huge cups they give you for water, and yeah, I'm pretty I also got a nasal aspirator. Yes, I remember because all the ones we found in stores were the little ones, which don't do much! But we had a really good large one, which we brought home from the hospital. I figured "why not, we're paying for it!"

i recommend you still purchase one set though because even of you do get it at the hospital you can have a set for home and one for the diaper bag. You never know when you'll need them.
