Raspberry Leaf Tea prepares the uterus for labour...

I was reading this article and thought others might enjoy it...

www.bellybelly.com.au/pregnancy/raspberry-leaf-pregnancy-red-raspberry-leaf-tea/

"Contains a rich assortment of vitamins including Vitamin B complex, calcium, iron, magnesium and fragarine"

"It is used to lower the blood sugar of diabetic women, regulate irregular menstrual cycles, decrease heavy periods and lower blood pressure."

"When taken during pregnancy, it is said to aid the mother's immune system, ease morning sickness and promote better circulation, strengthen uterine muscles and tone the pelvic floor in preparation for childbirth, as well as assist with breastmilk supply."

Available in tea or tablet form. "You can have up to 4-5 cups of tea in your third trimester, but have at least 2-3. If you prefer tablets, it is suggested that you take two 300mg or 400mg tablets with each meal, three times a day, from 32 weeks."

If you're interested, read the article and talk to your doctor. I'll be seeing mine tomorrow and plan on asking about this.

I'm 39 weeks pregnant and have been drinking it since I entered the third trimester, starting at one glass a day and working up to 4-5.  I heard contradicting advice on whether or not it's safe to take before the third trimester, so I waited, just to be sure.  More recently, I've noticed a lot of braxton hick's after I drink it, so hopefully it's helping!

P.s. I like it best iced with some sugar and vanilla extract.  2/3 C dry tea leaves, 1 gallon of water, 2/3 C sugar, and 1 t vanilla.  :)  Oh, and it's cheapest in the long run if you buy it in a 16oz bag online instead of tea bags from a store.

I used raspberry tea and had my son at 38 weeks. I feel it aided in helping induce the labor.

Very kind of you to share it with everyone. I'm 37 weeks and just started taking it 2 days ago after asking my midwife. It says online (haven't got the link sorry) to not drink raspberry leaf tea if you have a history of breast cancer in the family, which is why I didn't take it earlier. My midwife said last week that she never heard of that and that I should go ahead taking it.
