I actually stumbled upon an all natural cold remedy, you might want to try! Using only 1 tsp of raw honey & 1/4 tsp of cinnamon. Take twice a day for 3 days. It typically rids you of the symptoms within 5 hours of taking. And gets rid of the cold itself within a day or two. The lady on this site even explains "why" it works. Both the cinnamon & honey have antibacterial, antiviral, & anti-fungal properties. You can even continue taking this remedy forever & prevent yourself from getting it again. This particular person & her family have been cold free for 2 years now! My parents also have a remedy they take every night before bed. And they haven't been sick since they started it over a year ago. They take 1 tbls apple cidar vinegar & 1 tbls raw honey, mix it together & down it! Might want to chase it with some water. Anyway being pregnant & all, I love finding natural remedies over medication. Hope you can try this & that it works for you as well! Good Luck! :)

Beware of cold medicines. Most of the women I know, including myself, have been told by our doctors to not take anything but maybe regular benadryl in pill form and tylenol.

Ask your own doctor what you should take and how it may effect your labor and baby and breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding is a great idea for the antibodies to pass to baby.

Is baby going to be okay breastfeeding with the medicine mama takes (if she does take them)?

Be sure to breastfeed.  That way,  you'll protect the baby from catching it.  The baby will get the antibodies for that cold from you so he won't get it.

I would say let your doctor know ahead of time and take DayQuil (according to the instructions, of course) and Mucinex maybe, if you can't breathe you can't get baby out.
