Single Marker for DS

Hi I just had a level 2 ultrasound, I'm at 29 weeks and 2 days.. the reason that they sent me to a level2 ultrasound is that on my 1st they found a spot on the left ventricle of the baby's heart.during my visit today, seems like it was nothing to worry about. however, they mentioned that the baby's nasal bone was short and is a possible marker for down syndrome. I am Asian and my husband is asian too.. I'm 25 years old and he's 26, i want to know what are the odds? Can you explain further to me

Hey! They say it's common in Asians to have eif.. if all ur other tests were normal I wouldn't worry about it.. I found out at 28 weeks that my baby has an eif in the left ventricle and they did a level 2 ultrasound.. and the doctor told me he didn't want to do anything else about..he gave me a choice to get some blood work or an amniocentesis. . But he said it's 1/5000 chances.. also his daughter had eif but she turned out healthy.. I've been very scared but I'm just keeping positive that my baby is alright.. just hang in there and talk to your doc about it.. see what they suggest

You should really talk to your doctor about this. DS testing is normally done at 11-13 weeks not 29!
