Strep b

How can I prevent my baby from getting strep b once we are at home? And can I still breast feed even if I have Strep b?

Strep b is only transferred to baby during vaginal birth and you will get an antibiotic to prevent transmission during labor.

Your doctor will administer antibiotics  through an IV while your in labor at hospital. It will prevent baby from getting sick. Yes you can breastfeed. It doesnt pass through your breastmilk. I breastfed after my first baby was born and I had strep B.
