Thanks for the advice everyone. I am at 23 weeks with my 2nd child..due in January..got checked by my dr just to rule out preclamsia..with my first pregnancy I was due in January also and I never got that swollen so it scared me. I work in a deli where I make sandwiches and use slicers so im always on my feet running around. I also live in Philadelphia and past couple days been very hot and humid. Ill try the heat and ice. Hopefully something work because they are so sore but I still have to work :(
Sometimes there is not much you can do at this point as a baby's position may be limiting circulation ... you can try drinking lots of water to help flush the excess fluids, light exercise(like walking)... gets the blood flowing and yep elevating your feet... Avoid sitting for long periods of time and avoid standing for long periods... monitor how much salt your eating as it can cause your body to hold onto fluids...
Standing in the same place for an extended amount of time makes it way worse for me. I'm a bank teller and I had to request a chair bc my feet were getting so swollen and sore that it became unbearable. If you work on your feet, then I'd recommend getting a chair if you don't already have one. Then elevating them when you get home. Also maybe try Super Feet brand or high quality shoe inserts bc our arches often flatten during pregnancy and quality inserts can help, but the pain and discomfort is all par for the course :)
Wow my feet and ankles are swollen to I'm 37 weeks and a friend told me to take pop can and roll it back and forth on the sides she said cold one.
Alternating ice and heat usually helps me. Keeping them elevated as well and you can try soaking them for a bit.
