Ultrasound Accuracy?

Okay so how accurate are ultrasounds?  I had my anatomy appt on weds, and they said it's a boy. But it looks like a foot to me... I'm conflicted. I asked if they were sure, and they said yes, but something in me is saying it's a girl... what to do?

It cost $125 for a 3D in Alaska(expensive state) and I went in at 15 and half weeks and it was very very obvious we were having a boy.

It just looked like a foot got in the way. Not a 3rd foot.

Haha I am glad someone asked this because I was wondering the same. We went for an early ultrasound at 17 weeks and were told its a girl which is what we both wanted but im nervous she is going to grow a penis by my next ultrasound on the 29th lol. And where do they do $30 ultrasound!! Thats awesome our early one was $100

So like it had a third foot or a foot got in the way? With both of my pregnancies it was very obvious to me on body parts. I have had a boy and a girl and to me the difference is very obvious even to the untrained eye

The accuracy depends on a lot of factors like the position of the baby, experience of the sonographer, how good the machine is that they're using, and whether mommy is on the large size :) I'm a sonographer and speak from experience. You can always go for a second opinion!

Wow this is what happened to me,  they said its a boy but I feel it was not açurate cuz it looks like a foot to me as well. Plus I've felt so different this pregnancy than with my two boys. But guess have to wait lil bit more to find out if is true or not. They do say pregnancies are different from each other.

Your best bet is a 3d ultrasound. You can get one for $30+ and are right on

Go for a second opinion! Many places like a crisis pregnancy center or a 3d ultrasound place will offer a gender ultrasound for 30-60$. My baby wasn't in a very good position to see the gender, but the ultrasound tec said it was a girl. I wasn't convinced so I went to a pregnancy center and paid 30$ for a second look! And they said girl again lol
