Vback

Hello. I am currently 19 weeks with my second and my first ended up being an emergency c section due to her being sideways and too big to turn. I ended up having not one but 2 spinal headaches from the epidural. So that being said here is my question, I have reasons to suspect that though my doctor is telling me that we will "talk about it" I don't believe her. Is there any one that had a vback? I should also mention that I was 19 with my first and currently 25 years old and physically I have no reasons that a vback is out of the question. So is anyone willing to share their vback stories or have advice for me going forward? Thank you, in advance.

Don't be scared to find a new provider, I'm 37w2d and 4 weeks ago had to switch because mine neglected to tell me she wouldn't be around for the birth.....she'll be on a cruise. You'll be fine switching :)

Agree with other comments, find someone who will listen to you and let you be in charge of your body and the decisions concerning it.  Ps - midwives are awesome about vbacs.

There is alot of money in c sections..there is no reason you shouldnt be able to do a vbac..that being said they only do that in certain states i believe. I couldnt get one in idaho but now that i moved to washington i can..kinda weird

Find another Dr. I wanted to try vbac with this second one but due to the pregnancies being so close together it's risky and as soon as i brought it up to my dr he explained it to, not once but twice because i always want more details and reassurance that it's not possible lol so hopefully my third a few years down the road I'll be able too. Good luck, hope you get to deliver naturally!

Drs shouldn't avoid your questions like that. Almost sounds like she'll take any reason to give you a c section when the time comes and she's hiding it. I would find another dr

Switching doctors is what I'm thinking will end up being the result her but I'm going to try to get her to talk with me next week at my 20 week ultrasound. Since thus far she just avoids my questions. Thanks for your input.

My first pregnancy ended the same way, for different reasons. The choice to try VBAC should be ours, but often it is a matter of practice. Ask!!! Explore the risks and present yourself as educated and level headed.

The years between your 1st and 2nd should be a huge plus. Also, if you c-section was done in the modern way, transverse I think it's called, the scar doesn't pose as much of a risk to you or the baby. Even this far along, you might have to switch to a doctor that will actually talk about it when you bring it up. Get the answers and the understand the doctors' reservations if there is some reason they say you aren't a candidate. Hope this helps
