Walking?

Before I got pregnant I did not walk. Now I'm 33 weeks I actually enjoy it. It relieves stress and I feel better on a daily. I was walking last night and someone told me if I didn't walk before I was pregnant then it's not healthy to walk after I'm pregnant and especially so late in the pregnancy. Does anyone know What issues this could cause to me or baby?

That's awesome! I would say go for it, your very lucky!  I'm 29 weeks pregnant now and my son is growing so rapidly fast my body can't handle it. I can't walk longer than maybe 5 to 10 min before I have to sit. But it definitely doesn't hurt, if anything once you go into labor walking will actually help with that too.

That person was either a) trying to scare you or b) just an idiot. Walking is completely healthy during pregnancy and they encourage it to help keep your weight from skyrocketing.... Doctors will tell you as far as physical activity goes not to try something new that is rigorous... But most, if you did it before,  are fine (just check with the doctor first)... Walking helps prepare your body for labor, helps move baby further down the birth canal,  and helps you dilate towards the end. Keep on walking mama... labor will be easier

It won't cause issues. That person didn't know what they were talking about. Walking is low-stress, low-impact, and very good for you whether you did it before or not. Keep on moving, mama.
