Weight Gain

I've gained 18lbs and I'm currently 28 weeks,  my doctor wants me to see a nutritionist. Is this necessary? I don't feel like I've gained an excessive am out of weight and my Daughter is 2.10 lbs

I weighed 125 pre-pregnancy. I am 28 weeks. My daughter weighs 2lb 9oz. I have gained 29 lbs. My doctor is okay with my weight. I am all belly, even though i have gained quite a bit.

18lb isn't a lot if you think about how much the baby, excess fluid, blood, placenta and everything else weighs.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm 27 weeks and have gained almost 30 lbs. My doc just told me to slow it down and to make healthy choices. I'm a first time mom, I didn't realize the weight would come on so easily lol. I'll just have to work harder afterwards

Were you overweight to begin with? I am 14w and have gained 12 pounds and havent been told anything bad about it at all. She says i am doing great so i would only wonder if they are worried about your weight if you were already heavy. I started at 115 and i am 127 and some change now. So idk. I was a little underweight to start. But good luck mama. Hopefully all is fine and its just to prevent things.
