Thanks :) you all really made me feel better. It sounds like no matter what end of the spectrum we start on, one way or another weight is a problem. I don't want to gain a ton, so I do watch what I eat more than I did with my first pregnancy. I am also not going to starve myself. I get hypoglycemic so easily. I just don't like feeling like I should be ashamed for eating. It's hard to not feel sensitive when you don't feel on top of your game, you know?
I too believe all bodies are different. Obviously this isn't your first rodeo and you know your body and it's limits better than anyone else. Do what's best for you and your baby.
With my first two I didn't care about how much weight I gained. After my second I was diagnosed with and I have been encouraged by several doctors to gain as little as possible to nothing at all. My main OB said ideally 10lbs but she doesnt want me to starve myself. So far I have only lost weight obky from cutting out most fast food and eating more fresh foods.
I am in the same boat, although this is my first pregnancy and its almost over. I have gained almost 30 lbs when usually i am very small and eat what i want. like you said you only eat a small amount and you just gain..know how you feel i am usually i very small 105..now past 130..
I have lost 10 pounds, but I'm only twelve weeks, and I expect that I will gain it back and more very soon, now that I'm entering my second trimester. I wouldn't focus on how much you're gaining, but rather what kinds of things you're eating. If you're eating healthy foods, portioned meals, and drinking lots of water, baby will be fine! Don't starve yourself. I think my weight loss is becausey diet changes to healthier food (I was/am overweight), and my baby isn't very big yet so it's not adding any weight to me. I will be in your boat soon, and I will try not to worry about weight. Doctors can be so insensitive sometimes. I really think that rather than focusing on how much you've gained he should be looking at how good the food you eat is for you.
I think some of our bodies just gain weight no matter we do during pregnancy. Because with my first I gained 64 lbs and pigged out. So this time I was determined not to do that. I have been eating almost exactly 300 calories more than I used to, except one day a week I eat whatever and however much I want. And I work out at the gym 4-5 days a week for 45 min. And I am almost 22 weeks and hVe probably gained 12-13 lbs. At 19 weeks my doctor made me feel bad by telling me the 10 I gained at that point was too much. They had my starting weight wrong tho so I know it was only 7 lbs. but that was 3 weeks ago and I think I've put on about 6 more since then! And I started eating a little less since he said that but I still gained. So I think sometimes we are just gonna gain no matter what we do.
At my appointment Monday (35 weeks) I had gained up to that point a total of 42 lbs. Seeing the numbers on the scale completely depressed me
Well, ladies, I think I am right there with you. Last weigh in I think I gained 15-20 lbs and my next appointment is tomorrow so I will ask for sure. I am 24 weeks today! At one of my appointments a doctor acted like it was such a big deal I gained 7 pounds instead of the recommended 6 for a month. I didn't let it get to me because I will lose the weight. My son and I are healthy and happy and that's all that matters to me!
Good luck and best wishes, ladies!
I'm 34 weeks & gained 29 pounds & I'm proud cause when I have my princess I know ima lose it all & b back at 105 this is my fourth child & I'm mad cause I can't keep any of my pregnancy weight afterwards
@liljam13 With my last two I really didn't weigh much (in comparison) but I didn't make it full term either. I got scrutinized by all of the nurses who thought I hadn't gained any weight, so I can relate.
@jendorostheskull I feel like my body knows what I need to gain as well. I am sure I won't game 65 this time but 45 is actually a good amount for me. My body bounces back fast.
the doctor only wants me to gain 10 pounds but I've actually lost 25 pounds so far.
It sounds like we are on the same track @angelbabysmom. I occasionally weigh myself at work, but I am hating the scale these days. @simplylizzy23 I guess I really shouldn't complain. I could never only gain 10lbs. God bless you.
I gained 65 lbs with both of my first 2 pregnancies, and the docs gave me hell about it too. But i lost it all the first month, so i think that's just what my body needed to do. This time, I'm 31 weeks and have only gained 30 lbs, which is still a bit over but not as much. My doc says as long as I'm eating healthy, the extra weight is ok.
I went to the doctor yesterday and she asked me if I'm eating? I'm 32 weeks plus 5 days and have only gained 2 pounds sorry for any ladies that are angry after reading that but of course I am eating and baby is growing fine bit now she has me concerned that I am not eating enough food so I over ate last night and felt sick all night but now she has me worried. I also work 50 hours a weeks as a manager at a restaurant.
I am sorry you feel stressed. I can't relate entirely because I have only lost weight but when I got pregnant my doctor said I can only gain 10 pounds. So I am nervous and watch the scale every day. I pray every time i eat for the food to Naresh my baby but for me not to gain any weight. You are not alone. Good luck
I am 30 weeks and have already gained 30 pounds and last I was weighed was 2 weeks ago so who knows how many pounds I have packed on since I am not worried about it either
