What do contractions feel like?

FTM here, 39 weeks..this may be a stupid question but I have had so many different sensations in the last few weeks. Alot of lower back pain, alot of tightness in my belly, cramp like pain in my lower abdomen.  What exactly do contractions feel like...do you feel them in your lower abdomen or is it in your vagina? Sorry I just have been getting my hopes up everytime I feel something differnt. I'm just ready to have my baby boy. Thanks in advance!

Mine started in my lower back. It felt achy like I was sitting in a bad position. Then after awhile, it felt like someone was taking my legs and pulling them up on the sides of my body and popping my hips out LOL but it wasn't as bad as it sounds. I was 6cm before I went to the hospital and was walking around a store doing some last minutes xmas shopping when my contractions were 4-6 minutes apart.

Every pregnancy is definitely different.. I had no pain what so ever in my stomach, it was all in my back (he was posterior) it literally felt like someone was running fire along my back with every contraction.

Mine felt like gas pains. By the time I realized what I was experiencing was not bad gas pain and stopped trying to go to the bathroom, I was in full blown active labor with severe contractions 2.5mins apart with only 1 minute in between. Got to the hospital and I was 8/9 cm dilated. It had felt the "gas like pains" all day and just assumed I was constipated but it progressively got worse.

I've only had one contraction and it felt like the entire lining of my midsection seized up. It hurt but was quick.
My midwife checked me at 35 weeks because she was doing the strep b test anyway. That was uncomfortable but worse afterwards, I was cramping and had pain for 2-3 hours.

Mine were period like cramps. I didnt have any bh or real contractions until I was really in labor. Once I started getting them I just knew what they were. It will probably be the same for you know matter what they feel like.

If you can't talk through it, and you feel tightening, it is most likey a contaction. My last was all back labor. I literally HAD to stop and breath. There is very little doubt once the real working contaction start compared to the preperation contractions.

I had a few of them about a week ago or so my dr believes. It was really bad pain in my back and stomach all at once and my belly felt like it literally dropped. I felt like I had to push out a HUGE BM it was so much cramping and pressure. All I could do was stand there at work grasping one of the totes until it passed I couldnt walk or talk. It happened a few separate times over the course of several hours.

It's going to to be an bad bad back pain then spread to ur entire abdomen. It's going to make it hard for u to breath n talk. If it's just in ur lower abdomen it's probably HB
