amniotic fluid leak vs urine

I am just about 35 weeks with my second baby and for the past 2 weeks i have been leaking some sort of fluid.  At my last drs appointment she asked if i had any leakage and i responded that i was having some bladder leakage but now i am wondering if it is really my bladder that is leaking.  It seems to leak at random times not when i have to pee or my bladder is full.   usually not enough to soak through a panty liner and onto my underwear however there have been a few instances where i wasnt wearing a panty liner and it has gone right through my pants and is noticable (thankfully not in public). I plan to mention it to my dr at my next appointment however, i would love some input.  My question is how can i tell the difference between leaking fluid and urine?  I cant determine by smell and it appears clearish in colour. And how common is leaking amniotic fluid?

Also be aware wether it may just be discharge. It does get worse with pregnancy. I was having a simular problem a few weeks ago and i am almost 38 weeks now where i was leaking fluid but when i went in the decided it wasnt amniotic fluid which was good cause the first 24 hours are crucial if you are. So im sure its not urine you should be able to tell the difference but i would go in now and have it checked just in case if it is am iotic fluid you could get a infection so call ur doctor and tell them you arnt sure what it is all you know is you have been leaking fluid for a while now. Better be safe then sorry.

Thanks for the advice!  i will up the water intake for sure. The thought never crossed my mind.  I dont think i will have anymore ultrasounds unless they feel they need to As the norm where i am is 2.

just make sure you are drinking up lots of water till your appt and maybe you should call your dr and talk to them about it..

I couldn't tell you how to tell the difference but I also noticed I was ending up with wet underwears 1st I thought I was peeing myself.. So I paid closer attention and it wasn't that.. Then I thought I was just extra sweaty.. Not that... I just never brought it up to my dr because it wasn't a lot and at my 34 week appt I had an ultrasound and the doctor said my fluid was low..  So he told me that I was gonna be monitored for the rest of my pregnancy and to make sure I was drinking water.. He asked my to drink at least 3 liters of water
