I have a different Doppler that I've been using since 11 weeks. Best purchase I made during this pregnancy (besides maternity clothes). Really gave me peace of mind when I needed it. Early on, you need some patience to find the heartbeat, but once I was about 14 weeks, it was second nature and I knew just where to look. I'm 25 weeks now, and don't use it as often now since I feel her moving ALL THE TIME, but on the off chance that she hasn't moved in a while, I will check for her with the Doppler. She tends to kick wherever I put the Doppler wand on my belly, then she spazzes out for a few minutes. Guess she doesn't like me invading her sleep. Lol
I have my first midwife app today but I'm either 8weeks or 12weeks. Got my ultrasound on the 18th may so hoping the midwife can tell me roughly today how far on I am. I bought one but don't know if the sounds is the placenta or the heartbeat because I've heard the placenta has its own sounds
Oh, weird. Or maybe not... Come to think of it, I haven't tried using it since I could feel her kick. I'm also 28 weeks now. I guess now that they are so much bigger and move around more, it's more difficult to find the right location...
I have one and can't find the heartbeat. I'm 28 weeks.
I borrowed one from a friend and it worked pretty well, but it took me some time to find the heartbeat the first time. My advice: as low as possible,.near your pelvic bone, slightly to the side (left was best for me, later on placenta turned out to be on the right side, so that was possibly the reason left was better for.me). But don't worry if you.don't hear it right away, I don't know how far along you are, but my friend heard it at 6 weeks, but for me it was more around 12 or later (don't remember exactly)
