baking soda test - really?

so I was bored and curious ... and did the baking soda test. I used baking powder, but I suppose they're the same. it fizzed, and that means boy.

but I just had a large bowl of really salty popcorn. Could that have played a role?  doesn't your food/drink affect your pee?

how reliable is this baking soda test really? anyone tried this??

At my 16 week scan the tech said she was 80% sure it's a girl. I just had my 20 week today and i'm having a boy! I suggest waiting to get too excited until your 20 week ultrasound.

Baking powder and baking soda are very different & react differently to basics & acids. The results would be different. That being said, all the baking soda is reacting to is the PH balancenof your urine which changes based on what you eatbor drink. This is not a remotely accurate gender test.

Its just a myth I mean depending  on your urine pH if it's alkaline or acid it will react with baking soda. Though by coincidence I believe mine fizzled and I am having a baby boy

Basically you put a teaspoon of baking soda into a small container and then add some pee. if it fizzes its a boy, if its still its a girl.

Its a myth lol it has a 50/50 chance of being right for anyone who tries it. I did it this time and according to it I should be having a girl. Im not, im having a boy (110% sure).

Ive also tried the chinese prediction. Its been wrong for every single one of my pregnancies. If I went by symptoms I should be having a girl this time, nope.

So far the only thing that has been right for me is going by the way I carry. I carried both boys the same way. Never had a girl so cant say if id carry differently though.
