I was induced with my first being diabetic they want to deliver at 39 wks. Went through two rounds of cervidel which is something they insert in onto ur cervix...each can stay up to 12 hrs...supposed to help it soften and open up. made it half way into the second when my water broke on its own then they started pitocin and went from there

My doctor wants to discuss induction with my baby as well. I just hit 37 weeks. I wasn't induced with my first baby but I'm kinda over being pregnant. I just want to hold my baby. Seems like they are inducing a lot of second time moms. I wonder why? My first delivery was long but fairly uneventful.

I wouldn't do it. I was induced with my first because of high blood pressure. I was sick and depressed for weeks afterwards. Then I had my daughter naturally...no sickness and no depression. I felt great after.

Method of induction depends on what is called you Bishop Score (Google that) but basically there are several different things they can do to start the induction bases on your cervical exam and whether or not you are having contractions.

Hi, I was induced 9 weeks ago due to medical reasons. First things first, eat before you arrive to the hospital because you will not be allowed to until after delivery. Even if you are not completely hungry still make sure to put something in your system. They started me on cervidil the night I was admitted. The next morning they took it out and administered pitocin (which did make me gassy, so be aware of that possibility. :)). My OB broke my water, you wait until you are fully dilated and then it's time to push. Good luck and best wishes!

I am being induced the second time around. That won't till I'm 39 wks. I was induced with my 1st 41 wks the ****!!! Lol.

All they do give you pitcion through a iv. Then later on break your water.

You should discuss the procedures with your Dr, as well as the risks. Everyone will be a little different on what they do and when.
