belly ache in the first trimester?

I'm 7 or 8 weeks pregnant and I've been getting terrible belly ache. I need to stress not a cramping like mild period but in my stomach. Last night it woke me up around 2am. It felt overly full as if with air it was so painful and bloated. I tried to go to the toilet but nothing. Is it just terrible trapped wind and constipation?
It's my first pregnancy so I worry about everything!

Thank you so much I suppose with everything staring to move and slow down some upset is going to be normal. It's still quite bad but I've upped the high fibre foods and cut some protein. Fingers crossed in a few days it will pass.

Becca, bloating and constipation is unfortunately totally notmal. I found that Zofran, the nausea medicine, made mine worse. Try cutting down on proteins and breads (still eat them, healthy nutrition is vital at this point), but eat more fiber enriched foods.  For me, Fiber one meal bars really helped get things moving in my tummy, and got rid of the gas and bloating. I hope that helps!
