best workouts

I am very interested in staying fit throughout my pregnancy.  I am 17 weeks and pretty in shape prior to being pregnant.  Any advice or know of any good excercise links ? Or books/dvds ?

I've just stayed really active with having a toddler to chase after :-) and doing lots of waking. It certainly helped me not gain as much weight

Cool, thanks.
I asked my doctors & they are all very uninformative.  So I have been researching alot myself. This all helps !! :)

Squats are good for you while your prgnant. I would watch it on the cycle class I'm an avid cyclist and those spin classes can get your heart rate up high. What happens then is you burn off sugar and fall into a hypoglycemic stage, bad for baby. So, maybe not turn up the resistance as often and the rest of the class and if your getting winded on jumps don't do them all. I am mainly sticking to the treadmill on an incline, eliptical and free weights for now. Unfortunately I'm also having the same issues at almost 19 weeks, the urge to pee, especially on the eliptical lol

I zumba 3x a week with some modifications no squats or jumping since im only 8w 1d. But my body was used to it since im a zumba instructor. I feel like if I just lay in bed I tend to feel sick :(

My doc told me activity as normal and hasn't required me to monitor anything.  She had me eliminate fall risk at 12 weeks (snowboarding, mountian biking, etc) but other than that u still work out like before pregnancy. I get winded sooner so take a few more breaks or modify here and there. I'm just getting ready to start an insanity video, the go ffor a hill walk.  I have been running up until this point too (18 weeks) but during my last run I had to stop bc running made me feel like I had to pee! So probably no more running.  My regular week is usually one day of yoga, one day on the elliptical+abs, two days of work out videos and walking, and a long hike on the weekends.  Good luck!  I think sticking w daily exercise has helped me to feel good throughout this pregnancy so far!

I have been really active before getting pregnant also, my doctor told me that if you're already active it is fine to keep doing your regular workouts.. just monitor your heart rate, try not to get above 150. I asked her if boot camp classes and spin is still okay (by two favorite) she said as long and I'm monitoring I can do whatever I feel like as long as it is safe and I am not over heating (no more kick boxing). I can't wait to workout again, I've had such bad morning sickness (all day) that I haven't done much but taken a few short walks when I wasn't head over the toilet.. stay active though it's the best thing for you!

You can ask your doctor and they will give you a list of exercises.
