calling all military wives!

Any other pregnant military wives out there?? My hubby is stationed overseas in Germany and I got pregnant when he came home for Xmas leave.. We are now in the process of changing his orders to an accompanied tour. With that being said, I am incredibly nervous about packing up and literally moving across the world and having a baby. Anybody have any advice??

I was stationed in Germany a couple years ago and I loved it. It was a very safe country. Its actually a great place to have children. Europe has quite a lot to offer and a lot to do. Enjoy it as much as you can.

My friend was stationed at Landschtul (sp?), met her husband there and had her baby while stationed there. She loved it. Took weekend trips all over Europe and being in the Army has taken her places that being a "regular" nurse never would have. Move early on in your pregnancy, I was 6.5 months when we moved during this pregnancy, it was a pain.

Ive only heard good things about being stationed in Germany.  Everyone I know loved it.  I know it's scary but you may want to consider moving as soon as you can.  It'll be much harder to travel the bigger you get or with a newborn.

Not a military wife, but my grandma was, and had my aunt there in Germany (her youngest of five). They all loved living there, no complaints. But I wanted to thank all of you ladies and your husbands and families for your service. The only men in my family that haven't served didn't do so because of medical issues. I know it takes special people to do what you all do!! <3

^I was stationed there myself at JBLM (as a service member) Washington is beautiful.
As for the poster you probably already know this but the army is all about being flexible. I know a lot of friends and germany who love it! Its such a great new experience. You can travel to so many countries there.  I wouldnt be scared I would be excited for the opportunity to see europe not a lot of people get to do that!
good luck momma

German health care is great! And unlike their image, Germans love babies and pregnant women. I have met so many friendly and helpful people ever since I got pregnant! I am in week 37 and I am glad my baby will be born here. All the best! Besides, Europe is beautiful!!
