can you feel cervix thinning?

Can you feel your cervix thinning?  Is it possible for it to start thinning at 25 weeks and is it considered normal?

With my first child, I never had any contractions the entire pregnancy. No pains at all. I felt my normal self. Other then swelling and an uncomfortable big belly always in the way lol

I never had any with my first child. But I have gotten about 4 Braxton hicks contractions this time around at 37 weeks. But they weren't very painful or anything. Just mild cramping and my belly got really tight. Nothing extreme. Other then that, nothing really. I did start getting sharp pains in my inner thighs today tho. But that didnt start till after my doctor checked me today which was painful when he shoved his hand so far up me! It only happened while I was standing or walking. Went away when I sat or laid down. Nothing major just mild. Kind of weird so I researched it and found that its my bones widening, getting ready for childbirth.

Mines hasn't thinned but at 25 wks they said my cervix was softening... i was freaked out but they said it's perfectly normal. I had been feeling lots of pressure down there the past few weeks. I'm now going on 27 weeks, everything's still normal.

Hey AngelaAdams, when you say that you still feel normal, does that include not hurting like contractions or nothing? Because im 35+5 and i havent felt anything

I'm 38 weeks by the way. I wouldn't say it's "normal" to be thinned out at 25 weeks. But I'm not a doctor. I have heard of women being thinned and or dilated for weeks before they deliver tho. So could be possible.

I got checked today by my doctor and was really surprised when he said my cervix is thinned out. I haven't felt anything at all. Still feeling completely normal. So I'd say no you cannot feel it. Not sure if this varies from person to person or not tho.

No not really normal for it to happen that early. But I thought something was going on down there but it was the baby pushing on my cervix with his hands and feet
