You can look into oil pulling. There done evidence that it reverses cavities. Also I was told to use act mouth wash
I had the tips of a couple teeth break off at around 6 weeks. I was flossing and they just fell out, it was terrifying. I was told it can happen and my gums are still sore (i'm 20 weeks now). My dentist said unless I'm in pain, she'd prefer to wait to do any dental work until after the birth but if the pain is high, that negatively affects the baby. Best time to do dental work if you have to is in the second trimester, that's what I was told.
Every single time I'm pregnant I get extra oral issues. It's due to acid reflux from the heartburn and vomiting.
My teeth have become the pits with this pregnancy. I just got over an infected swollen impacted wisdom tooth.which i was suppose to remove 9months ago though never caused a problem til now. Ky dentist suggest brushibg after every meal and also salvco mouth wash inbetween.
I will have to check and see if I get an extra cleaning. I've heard that this could happen. But didn't think it would since I've always had healthy teeth and gums. Just goes to show that pregnancy really messes your body up!
Some dental insurances offer an extra cleaning during pregnancy. You may want to check with yours :)
I am going to get them filled. I just wondered if there is anything I can do to help keep them from getting worse after the fillings. I'm 21 weeks.
How far along are you? A lot of women don't consider the amount of calcium the baby takes from you in order for their bones to strengthen. The first place it affects us is our teeth since they are the weakest bones. Unfortunately, you cant reverse a cavity so I would definitely get those filled, but I would also start eating food rich in calcium, such as sesame seeds and spinach.
