I have battled with depression for a few years now and I'm a ftm. When I found out I was pregnant I stooped taking my meds (which I only took when needed) but my ob was clear that if I start feeling the signs which by now I know ahead of time to let her knkw. There are safe antidepressants and women who already have a history of depression are more likely to get post pardon depression. Then your good to no one especially your child. I would definitely get a second opinion. The benefits out weight the risks. Someone without depression would be quick to say just talk to someone. It's not always that easy. Get some help so you don't hurt yourself or your children.

It is worse to have untreated depression during pregnancy than to take medication. I tried and things got outta control quickly. After discussions with my ob and a pediatrician , I am on a low dose of medication. It has made a world of difference especially dealing with my kids n husband. Keep talking to anyone who'll listen and telling your Dr how u really feel. If Dr won't listen and u can't change talk to the office manager . just keep telling them till someone listens. Good luck

Talk to another doctor. I have depression and gave been on medication since I hit the second trimester. There are several medications that are OK to take during pregnancy. I know you said you don't have time to go to therapy, but it is important enough for you and your husband to make time. Depression can affect the pregnancy so getting help is imperative.

Have you ever smoked pot? Does it help with your depression when you do? It's natural & may be the lesser of 2 evils when being compared to chemical medications. From what I've read it doesn't hurt the baby....

I understand why you can't take medication during pregnancy as it can be harmful yo the baby and there are other options... You can see a psychologist or someone for therapy. They can help you with CBT or emotionally focused therapy. It can give you skills for going forward after the baby as well.

You need to get a different Doctors. It's your body & there are anti-depressants that are safe for baby while you're pregnant or breastfeeding. Depression is so bad & to just tell you that they won't help you is so harsh! Ask to see a different doctor. One who does listen to their patients needs!

Try praying. Just cry out to God. Go to church tomorrow. It's good just to talk to someone.

Sounds like if you are having some life difficulties and aren't handling them well, counselling/ therapy would be the avenue to take. Try looking for a counsellor that deals with depression and anxiety and marital issues. Good luck!
