The weekly shots were a progesterone hormone, they gave me morphine at the hospital several times to stop contractions

I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks. Was given magnesium and two steroid shots within 24 hours and penicillin since I hadn't had my group b strep test done yet. I was able to hold him in until this morning at 37+5. But I was put on light bed rest until 36 weeks. He is fine and healthy.

This is my personal answer and I have to clarify that my Dr does not agree.. My baby (she's my 6th kid) was born with hypothyroidism which is genetic defect but no one in my family or my husbands family have a history. I am pregnant again and have had some cramping so my Dr wanted to put me back on it and I declined  because I personally feel it might have side affects.

I was put on a weekly shot and it helped but if I went grocery shopping or anything like that I would start getting contractions and ended up in labor in delivery, they would stop my contractions with morphine and finally made it to full term. I got to week 40 and the baby didn't want to come out :)
