first doctor appointment

Hey ladies!! I'm 6 weeks pregnant. Had a missed abortion last Dec and been trying ever since and finally got my BFP in Aug. My question is should I see an ObGyn early this time cause I had a missed abortion the last time or can I wait till I'm 8 weeks. I dont wanna be spending more going this week to my obgyn. Do you think seeing a doc early has its benefits? Need some advice. Please help!!

I am sorry about your loss, and congratulations on your new pregnancy!

Unless you were diagnosed at the time as having too low of progesterone and they specifically felt that is what caused your missed miscarriage, I wouldn't bother to go to the doc any earlier than usual.  Having one early miscarriage does not mean you are at higher risk for another.  (In the first trimester the odds are like 2 out of 5 pregnancies don't continue.  Pretty sad, but it has to do with things that don't connect correctly when the sperm meets egg, and when those things are needed but not there, the baby fades.)  There is little enough they could do even if you had an obvious problem -- in the early stages, there is no magic pill or medicine the doc can give that will cause your embryo to keep developing as it should. The main thing to remember is that it's unlikely this will happen again in exactly the same way.

In short, go to the doctor at the usual time unless you think you need to have your progesterone levels monitored.  Call to find out if the doc thinks that would be important.

Take care.

Thanks everyone. I'm gonna wait until I'm 7-8 weeks that way I can see a heart beat. Missed abortion my doctor said in when your sac is intact but the fetus just stops developing

It's better to go early considering a missed abortion. They will monitor you and the baby more closely

What's a missed abortion?? They normally won't do a ultrasound until eight weeks. I'd call the doc and see what they think. :)
