i hear ya, pregnancy is absolutely amazing but the things it can do to your body inside and out can be scary. you literally have no control of it and just have to roll with it. ive been thinking the same thing ive got 10 weeks to go so ive gone this long with out someone my favorite things like sushi i can manage the last little bit without too much sugar. hey the good news is the cravings for the sweets will lessen as you progress in your new diet,  you tend to crave things your body has to much of. good luck mama!

I wish i could have chocolate milk, but i have found since i am preggo that i am lactose intolerant so thats no good. I have a terrible sweet tooth, and i cant stomach coffee without cappuccino mix and flavored creamer. I have had to have cake or a danish or chocolate covered donuts, at least twice a day, its just a craving.. And now i am going to be cut off of all that stuff. I can deal, it will take some adjustment, and tears, lol but ill get through it. 70 days left to go. I am just sad because i have a laundry list of ailments besides this. But thankfully so far baby is healthy, and coming along just fine, and i dont have any restrictions. So its all good. Ill do what i gotta so my son is healthy and all that.. Its just a bummer. Every time i get used to one change another pops up. I just keep telling myself, only two more months.. Only two more months!

sorry to hear! it's not a result you want but the solutions are simple. ive been diagnosed for alittle over a week now and the diet hasn't been bad. im probably eating more then i was before, so you wont go hungry! avoid obvious sugars, hard if you have a sweet tooth :( and id suggest sticking to just water as plain and boring as it sounds but even just juice is pretty much just sugar. dont know if your a coffee drinker but its fine as long as you dont put sugar in it. (it actually helps regulate blood sugars) protien is important try and incorporate it with every meal and snack if possible. limit carbs and if your having think whole wheat is best (rye bread in particular is opening glycemic index) veggies but avoid starchy ones (that means most root veggies) fruits limited amount but if you have some apples pears and dark berries dont spike your sugar too much because of the fiber so leave the skin on! bananas are also pretty safe. another tip put cinnamon on anything it works with another thing like coffee that can help regulate your blood sugars (i put it in my coffee) here's a sample day for me if im being super good. breakfast -oatmeal with milk cinnamon and some kinda nut usually walnuts. coffee with milk and cinnamon. snack an apple with some cheese slices (pairing the sugary snack with protein like cheese slows down the absorption of sugar) lunch -bean salad and some veggies with hummus (usually peppers and broccoli) snack -two hard boiled eggs yet another snack - greek yogurt with cinnamon and walnuts maybe some sliced banana (also not a bad idea for dessert) dinner - chicken breast with mixed green salad and avocado and quinoa.  i have been generally avoiding desserts just to be safe. but a treat i have that doesn't seem to spike my blood sugars too bad is chocolate milk good source of protein and calcium and its chocolate!  need i say more. good luck. hope that helps. :)

There going to ask you to cut sweet drinks like soda and juices, desserts, limit fruit and you will have to portion your carbohydrates during your meals.
They may have you eat 3 small meals a day and 3 snacks. So that your sugar stays stable and doesn't peak real high or drop real low. Also they will encourage you to walk after meals. If your limited on time for excercise. I suggest at least doing a walk after dinner since they will closely moniter your fasting sugars in the morning. If you go to bed high you will usually wake up with a high number. So walking after dinner should help bring you down a bit. You kind of just have to think of it more as portion control more then anything. You can still eat carbs like rice pasta potatoes just a smaller portion. I was able to trick my mind to being more satisfied that way instead of thinking I can't have anything good. Good luck :)

Stick to veggies meat and cheese.  Limit carbs. They will teach you that 15 grams of carbs equal 1 serving.  I try to limit myself to 1 carb serving every meal and none during my snacks.  I Am doing great.  My diabetes doctor says I'm one of her best patients.  Hang in there mama.  It's not as bad as you think.  I've even lost weight and my doctor is pleased!
