Ugh I have my 3 hour test this week. The nurse said I probably don't have it because my numbers were only a few off. I still don't like the idea of hanging at my Dr's office for three hours to find out.

If you want to bake, try using xyletol instead of sugar, but be wary, too much can send you running to the pooper! I use it when baking for diabetic friends, Much better than artificial sweeteners.   Chia seeds really help control appetite, you can throw them in anything and they are really good for you.

If you look up paleo and primal recipes. They are great for ppl w diabetes. My bf has it and its been a lifesaver. Not to mention they are delicious and so much healthier. I am plus size woman and pg and its helped me lose inches and feel way better.

You can have multi grain breads something high in fiber helps a lot. Having GD is not that hard. I've been following a not so strict diet and have had great sugar readings because I portion control everything. I'm 37 weeks Wednesday and I will be delivering Wednesday for high BP. I've only gained 10 pounds and they think my baby will be around 6 1/2 pounds at delivery. I'm sure everyone's sugar levels depends on the person my GD might not be a severe case.

It's really not that hard. I felt the same way when I found out. Low carbs and high protein. Stay away from cereal, oatmeal, and starches. You can still have some sweets, just in smaller portions. I'll have bacon eggs and a slice of today for breakfast, chef salad with extra dressing for lunch, steak mashed potatoes and broccoli for dinner. I mean you're still allowed to eat, it's just all about portions and carbs. Good luck.
