Ive been coughing since I was about 8 weeks along and it hasnt stopped (28 weeks now)... I have bad allergies which is causing the coughing and they said I can use Claritin, Zyrtec or Allegra. Claritin does absolutely nothing for me, so I asked what about Claritin D and it has been linked to birth defects--- so thats a no... I tried zyrtec and still no relief... my body is intolerant to Allegra... so I just have to suffer until baby is out and I can go back on my allergy shots (which will be after I stop BF'ing)--- the worst part about it...Spring is right around the corner :(

I been coughing for 5 days now due to the flu. I'm 17wks. I been taking cough drops and drinking tea.I really can't take meds (high risk). I will be glad when it's over. Coughing alot does make you pee your pants. Hope you feel better soon. Call your doctor also to see if you can take something.

Coughing will not hurt the baby...but depending on how far along you are may make you wee a bit...The worst thing coughing could do is make your ab muscles sore.

Now, if you have a fever you should see your Dr because that could mean an infection (ie: sinus infection)

Just try to relax and increase your fluids.
