When my oldest I didnt take her out for a month except to the doctor. I was also very scared of people touching her too, so people had to use hand wipes before holding her.

In my culture (African-American), we do not take our babies out until they are 2-3 months old. They go to the doctor, church,  and home.

Everyone is going to give you a different answer and honestly it is what YOU are comfortable with.  But I will be taking my newborn to my sister's wedding which is two weeks after my due date.

I took him straight from hospital and out and about my aunt took me to my favorute restaurant  and my son was covered by carseat  cover which I pulled back to look at my son  and they saw he was a new born and popped off  you should not havw that baby out he should he at home ans then they coughed did not cover mouths tgen tried touching my child  i offered hsd sanitizer to them they siad no to it I told then kiss my *** anyone near my baby can cover their mouths noses when they cough or sneeze and if they wanna touch him hold him they can wash their hands or I wilI  squirt hand sanitizer on hands before they can do so. At least i know they wont be nasty like you around my baby (only people wanting to hold touch him eas resurant staff whom i hd known forever and knew how hygenic they were no matter what) I was only in hospital 2 1/2 days that's it we also went to Walmart shopping I did not wanna go straight home I was made to stay in bed all first day at hospital after having him even though no pain anything was able to walk not stumble or anything and I was careful when I walked which the most was down to nursery to go get my son bring him to my room which I requested doing instead of nurses bringing him to me cause he did not have to be in nusery all day long /in my room an hour or so at the most. So I needed to walk some plus had to have a specific formula that was sold in stores but not wic approved be it hour a prescription I had to buy  it till wic approved it and got it sent to the store for me to pick up my son had a very sensitive stomach after birth so  thats why a prescription formula had to be requested and approved by wic and bought out of pocket it was expensive as hell.  If u feel comfortable taking baby out when u do just have people wash sanitize hands before holding the baby if near by they need to cover mouths when they cough cover nose when they sneeze then wash sanitize hands (which should be a must no matter what when you sneeze or cough ) and if cold cool weather have a carseat cover they are more sensitive to cold weather than us same with hot weather don't over cover bundle up if weather is warm

RSV is more prevelant those months but can happen any month and is very dangerous for a newborn. My son had it at 2 weeks and being told about intubation, medovac and permenant lung damage is not worth it.

RSV season is from about December to march so if they are born outside of that they should be okay. Just use common sense, if you have a preemie be extra cautious, make sure anyone who picks up baby washes their hands, and yes baby gets some antibodies from you too! But they don't protect against everything.

Keep in mind, newborns are born with immunities from your body and also, if breast feeding, they continue to get them from your breast milk. You have nothing to worry about in that situation.

Not public for 2 months because of RSV. Out for walks and Dr spots is fine.

I took mine out right away. I had to run to the store and was a single mom at the time. She was perfectly fine. Just don't let strangers touch your baby.  They are very resilient though. Even as newborns.

Usually its recommended to not take baby to crowded places such as malls or restaurants until baby has its first vaccines at 2 months. Of course you can take baby out to the Dr though or even on a walk if its nice out

For my first son I actually didn't take him out till he had all his shots at 2 months. But that's just me being a paranoid first time mom every1 is different
