irregular gestational sac no heartbeat at 5 & half week help

Hi all I'm a 32 year old mom of two. I am very confused and worried.  I have had 3 hcg tests first was 170 something second was 997.2 third was 14,455. In between second and third they did a viability ultrasound.  All they saw was a gestational sac which I was told was irregular in shape and a yolk sac. They could not find a fetal pole or heart beat . I was told yolk sac measures at five and half weeks. I was told that u could expect to miscarry my pregnancy.  That my Hcg levels are not increasing enough that coupled with the irregular gestational sac and no fetal pole or heartbeat means this pregnancy is non viable. That if in a week I do not miscarry I need to take steps to have it taken care of. Does anyone have any information or similar experience.  I'd like to know if there is hope. I feel fine. Normal tired and mild nausea without puking.

That happened to me....at 5 weeks it was too early to detect most of those things on ultrasound. If no bleeding occurs, I would wait and get a second opinion of some sort, just to make sure. Good luck to you. Wishing you well!

Yeah, HCG isn't a great indicator of anything at this point, they should definitely be able to see something more on the next ultrasound, good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thank you I have requested another.  I was told they would order either the hcg or ultrasound and I opted for the ultrasound in two weeks.

well i see no problem with the HCG, an ultrasound without a doubt should show an ultrasound by at least 7 weeks, so request another ultrasound and praying for the best for you!

Ultrasounds don't usually show HB til around 12 weeks. Also, I didn't get disable fetal pole til 7 weeks. Request another ultrasound or u can always go to hospital as they tend to have better equipment to see early pregnancy.

I guess it depends on how far apart your blood draws were, because if they were fairly close, they are definitely doubling perfectly, I don't know why they would tell you that. Also - 5 1/2 weeks may be too early to see a H/B, maybe anything at all unless you know exactly the day you got pregnant, did you request another ultrasound? That's your best bet, after 6 weeks to see if baby has grown or the H/R is there.

Wait a week and ask for another ultrasound. Sometimes at 6 weeks you can't hear a heartbeat.
