I have a cold sore from salty chips and drying out my mouth usually I sleep with my nose but the last two nights I've been stuffed up and using my mouth. I don't usually get cold sores j think this is the third one I've had all my life and im 25. Want to get rid of it so bad its ugly its in the way has anyone's doc said no them if they had this issue before?

I called my doc he never responded back I see him tomorrow. Am kind of feeling blah today don't k ow if a cold or the flu is coming on or if it's just pregnancy symptoms. Head is hurting no cough or sore thoart just don't feel so well. The last time I got a cold sore it was last winter when I was sick. I have heard not to kiss your baby with a cold sore before they can't fight the virus the same way we can. Gonna talk to my doc tomorrow thanks ladies

I've used Abreva a couple times while pregnant and it has helped the cold sore quickly go away. I've had a cold sore around my daughter and she has never been affected. I've never heard of the risks mentioned above, and my providers know that I can be susceptible to cold sores. Definitely ask your doctor if you have questions. And a call to a pharmacist can answer your drugs during pregnancy questions.

Im not sure whether to use any creams for it as many say not to use during pregnancy. Have you tried putting ice cubes on it? Wrap ice cube in cloth and press on area. Make sure not to spread it/touch other parts. Use as many as you like. Id personally let it run its course and avoid acidic foods.
On a diff note, once baby is born, make sure baby is never in contact with someone with a cold sore, the result can be fatal. If you have one at that time, do not kiss your baby and get it treated.
