labor/ water breaking

I know this is a weird question but I'm a ftm, 27 weeks yesterday and have been dreaming of l&d a lot lately. How will I know when my water does break and its time?

Thanks ladies! The pressure has calmed down a bit.

Its also very likely that you will go into labor without your water breaking on you....and FYI, wearing a panty liner WILL NOT help if you do. Now is a good time to make sure you have a mattress pad underneath you when you sleep.

Oh and a tub is actually worse than a pool. Even if u clean it you are basically basking in dirt from your body and that is much worse and with the heat of the water can cause yeast infections very easily.

Mommy2724 u must have been swimming in a contaminated pool ;) lol I go to a pool exercise class for pregnant woman and have nev heard of that from any of the ladies.. swimming relieves all the pressure and is great exercise for those who don't like to walk a lot.. and your water can break an u may think its just pee but if it happens more then a couple times and u actually have to question yourself call your doc just to be safe!

Just be safe I didn't lose my mucus plug and my Placentas wasn't perforated and I still got infections when I would swim in a pool. Goes to show everyone is different. I have a friend who can't even take a bath in her tub or swim in a lake or pool without getting an infection of some type. Lol anyways just try anything u can! Good luck!

I realise someone said to avoid pools but that's what had been helping me a lot.  Infections wld be an issue if you lost mucus plug and placenta is perforated.  As for breaking waters - I have never felt any pain at all. I just has water coming out of me while my bladder was closed. Remember for pee you have either to feel your muscles opening up either when you go to the bathroom or laugh,  sneeze - that you know you pee either intentionally or not. Breaking waters without pain (which I experienced)  the water just trickles out and you cant stop it or it gushes out. It has an element of surprise on you unlike a sneeze pee

Do you take a lot of baths? Water is exellent for relieving pressure! Just be sure to clean tub good and avoid pools! Too easy to get infections. Babies sure love to lay so we aren't comfy some times. I have to drink some chamomile tea before bed and sleep with a pillow between my knees just to stay comfy. Lol

I'm just worried bc I don't know what to expect and I really truly honestly feel he's coming a lot sooner then what they tell me. I've trusted my body up til now and when everyone else was wrong, my body and what I felt was right. Plus I've been having ALOT of pressure down there like he's dropped and I can't seem to get confortable at all and its only getting worse. I'm also wprried bc I've been wearing panty linera for most of my pregnancy

Not all people know exactlhy when their water breaks. My water started leaking at 29 weeks. I thought because my lil man was on my bladder that I just wasn't making it to the restroom in time. It got real bad so I started going to labor and delivery. 3 times and they said my water was good not leaking. Two days later I had my doc check me and she sent me to the hospital and admitted me and said my water had been leaking. that was at 31 weeks so two weeks it was leaking which is very easy for infections and extremely dangerous for the baby. Trust your body that all I can say :) good luck and stay safe!

It has a sweet smell and mine looked clear... there was a lot of fluid... before my water broke I had this cramping pain fely it in my back and stomach, no position changed helped then the fluid just came running down my leg and left a nice puddle on my bathroom floor.. hope this helps :)
