I had same problem with epidural I was numb and coz of ceserian I was unconscious for few hours and couldnt hold my baby boy.. I know what you mean I would be the same if I see the doctor or nurse nearly dropping my baby. I would be ready to kill them lol only if im conscious. . All the best this time. Im going to read more and research in to natural labours I wont go for epidural but I think ill go for gas and air and some paracetamols etc which ghey normally recommend

I have 3 children and pregnant with my 4th. My first child I had an epidural and my whole leg was numb after childbirth and I couldn't get up to shower or anything so I couldn't see or be with my baby til afterward and she was my first born. So I decided to go all natural with my others. With my son right after birth I had an anxiety attack. I don't believe it was from the pain but from other things I was going through and because the stupid doctor almost dropped my son!!! With my daughter I didn't have any and the pain was excruciating like hell but they gave me meds through my iv which helped only a little. I believe the epidural did mess my back up because every time I had my period since than my back aches really bad. If u can handle the pain I'd suggest go without the epidural but the light medicine they give u through iv should be fine

LOL! Nah, no killing thoughts... But my husband said I kept giving him some Go-To-H.e.l.l. looks, hahaha. The only thing that got me through it was when a contraction came, I would stare at this spot I found high up on the wall and just concentrate on it instead of my pain... and no one else. I swear that worked, even though I can't imagine how. But it did, and I was thankful, lol

I was already 10 centimeters (I didn't realize it, lol) and they told me it was time to push. They said if I was too get meds then, it wouldn't help until after baby was born, which obviously would have been a waste. So, yeah.. that was hard hearing, especially since I had just given up, lol

Wow.. brave women  honestly. . I think ill tk gas and air I can just about feel the pain now lol with my first I had two hours of contractions then rushed in for c section coz of my sons heart beat goin low. Oh well lets see.. I heard with epidural your back hurts alot for rest of your life. I had it with my first and ever since it hurts.. lol cant win either way. . Im a bit curious now coz u both said it was late to get epidural or pain relief so does that mean they didnt offer you anything else?

I've been through both all natural and medicated.

My first, I decided that I wanted to try all natural... I never imagined the pain would have been that bad, and when I thought that I couldn't take it anymore I was crying for an epidural , but it was too late by time I gave in. So all natural it was.

My second, I decided I wasn't going through that again, so I opted for an epidural. I am so glad I did, too. I was smiling the whole time, even joking with my doctor and birthing nurse. I had such great memories with my second's birth.

I am now pregnant with my third, and I am most definitely going with the epidural. That being said, I am still glad that I had both experiences. So really, it's up to you to decide. If I was to do my first's birth all over again, I wouldn't have pressured myself into feeling that all natural was the only option. I would have lived in the moment and decided while in the middle of it without judgment on myself, if they makes sense.. Good luck! And congrats!

My first pregnancy I went all natural, but not by choice! My labour went so fast they said it was too late to get anything. I'm not going to lie, it was the most excruciating pain you will ever feel! But with that said, it was completely worth it. Once your little one is in your arms you completely forget about the pain :-)
