low blood pressure and fainting

This is my second pregnancy and I didn't experience any bp issues with the first but I have been fainting several times a week due to my bp dropping. Anybody else with this issue and what did you do to control it? I have been to my ob and she says there's nothing she can do to raise my bp while pregnant. My bp has been averaging about 105/55 with a high pulse (it gets up to 105 resting) and I have been short of breath also :/ any advice would be greatly appreciated

I had this through first pregnancy..It mainly happened in shops, peoples houses or at work..usually i noticed id get hot first..i used to try and avoid anywhere hot or staying long in any shops..but definitely the most important thing is to get on the floor before you fall..and my mum whose a nurse alwsys made me raise my legs..think thats to increase blood flow back to where you need it..its not a nice side effect but luckily gone the minute you give birth lol

Ive always had low bp for a number of reasons and never realised that my pork cravings whilst pregnant were for anything other than increasing my iron levels! Ive become adept across the years at planting my but down before I actually lose all control. The main thing is to get down asap. I found that the worst of the fainting passed with the first tri, im 17 w, but my bp is still v low, 90/50. Lots of salt in ur meals, feel free to eat a bit of junk if ur out to perk u up b4 u feel shoddy. Oh and get up slow, if ur not sure, walk next to the wall of the room if possible.

Salt is one way, water is another if you don't drink enough you don't have the volume your body needs. It is like oil in your car the body will run with out enough but not well. Also I have low bp normally. When you first get dizzy before you loose your vision hit your knees and plant your head in front of them. You may not pass out and if you do you won't have to fall

Hmm. Pork products and caffeine are known to raise blood pressure if you want to try something like a sausage biscuit and a small cup of coffee in the morning? Having enough salt and elecyrolytes also helps. Also lying down will sometimes raise your bp a little and stop a fainting spell. (I take bp meds and when I was trying different ones and strengths out I had to learn how to equalize my bp sometimes if it got too low.).
