Thanks ladies my due date is 6th Jan but dont think my baby wants to hold on. My waters havnt broken yet but contractions r a killer. I had epidural with my first it didn't help much but gave me a life time of back ache after that. Im thinkin of sticking to gas and air but not sure if its a good idea lol.. what else cn u do if u go naturally I.e massage or holding on to something or some position in which u can sit or lay in so that the pain gets easy. Even my midwife said best thing is to relax and stay calm but honestly pain doesnt let u stay calm.. my poor husband was so worried wn I had contractions all night .. bless him.. I hope to get through this naturally and not hv another c section

I had an epidural with mine. My first and second were perfect and I felt no pain. My third it didn't work but if you can stay calm and relaxed as much as possible between contractions natural isn't so horrible. There is also something called a saddle block that is like an epidural but not as strong and IV drugs that just take the edge off. If you're able to walk around that can help a little. Most hospitals will also let you stand in a shower to help relieve some of the pain and some have whirlpool tubs you can relax in until your water breaks. Bouncing on a yoga ball is supposed to help also and most hospitals offer them now too. You should talk to your nurse and see what's available and let them recommend something. They've seen enough babies being born you can trust them. Knowledge is power :-)  good luck! !!
