period like cramps

Hey guys...so I'm a little nervous :/ if any already mommys can help out I'd be grateful. I'm 35 weeks and 4 days and this is my very first baby, and last night when me and the hubby were walking like we usually do I started having really bad cramps. So bad to the point that I'd have to sit down and close my eyes to steady myself. They didn't let up for hours and I called my mom who came right over and did acupuncture which helped a little. I woke up around 6 am this morning to pee, and I noticed I had mild cramps again. Nothing as bad as last night. They've been on and off all day. Light and constricting but nothing unbearable. I just wanted to know if this is normal? :/

Arh your more than welcome. Back rubbing duty is always a good shout :-) best of luck with it all. It will all be worth when you're having a cuddle with your gorgeous little man :-) x

Its a worrying thing pregnancy. Esp for a first time mum. Saying that I still worry and this is my 3rd. Have a nice relaxing bath or ive used a wheat bag before which you put in the microwave for a couple of minutes that has taken the edge of them. Or maybe a nice back massage from your hubby. Esp lower down. At 35wks its still a little early so maybe baby is just letting you know what to expect but just monitor it. Loads of YouTube videos on breathing techniques to help you breath through the pain in labour so they may also help with these practice ones. Maybe worth a look at. Just put in "breathing techniques during labour" and they should pop up for you.x

They could be Braxton hicks which are practice contractions. If the pain was to come and go frequently and close together then this could be labour. Best way to tell is to time them. If that was the case then I would ring your midwife to let them know. Keep an eye out for bleeding or snotty like tissue which could be your mucus plug this can pass in one big go or little bits at a time. Sometimes like a dark brown old blood or fresh. Again your midwife will need informing if a bloody show was to occur. Hope this helps x

Yes my discharge has changed. There's a lot more then usually and its thicker and slightly greenish (I know, gross lol). I've been drinking non stop and trying to keep mobile since that seems to help

Cramping is normal to an extent. Monitor them and make sure you don't have any bleeding or spotting. Has your discharge changed any? Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water, that'll help.
