My OB said everything looks good and sounds good with baby. She just told me to make sure to use my symbicort every day and everything should be fine :)
Thank you for the responses :) I will let everyone know what my OB says today at my appt
With my first son the Dr had me using a rescue inhaler the hole pregnancy and I was going through em like crazy because I had a horrible time breathing with him. 2nd and 3rd baby I have been on symbicort high dose with rescue inhaler when needed. Never been told I was high risk because of it tho. She keeps on top of it and always makes sure I have my meds. I'm high risk for multiple other reasons but not my asthma. I have horrible allergies and have been struggling with breathing due to baby & allergies and what not. Both my son's where fine
1st son 40+4 7lbs 10oz 21 1/2 inch
2nd son 37+3 7lbs 1oz 20 1/2 inch
2nd son born early due to Gestational hypertension.
Can't wait to see how baby girl comes out in 40 days!
Thanks ladies, will ask my doctor on my next visit tomorrow.
My doctor told me to use my rescue inhaler if I needed it. If I'm not getting enough oxygen, then neither is the baby and that's not good. I would ask your doctor though (you may be on a different kind), your nurse may have been mistaken or confused. Best of luck! :)
Whatever your nurse said is false. If you need your inhaler then use it, no matter how often that is. My pulmonologist was pissed because my regular dr wouldn't give me an onhaled steroid because breathing is more important than any rosk posed by your medication. That is coming from a specialist.
I have really severe asthma too, I am just 14 weeks and its acting up. I fear when my pregnancy is further along. I was told by a nurse last month not to use my inhalers too much as its not good for my baby. I wish you luck Miami and am praying for you.
I got a really bad cough at 7.5 months last pregnancy and went on symbicort as well, which is a steroid. Steroids can boost birth weight so I wouldn't worry about her small size. I didn't become officially high risk because I had no other issues. My asthma is really easily maintained though. I take my ventolin puffer maybe a few times a year if I get a bad cold. I wish you luck. It stinks having asthma while pregnant. Good luck!
