screening test

I'm 16 weeks pregnant, and on the screening test I received to see if the baby had any defects, it came back as abnormal. I was told to keep in mind it's just a screening test, bur I can't help to worry. Anyone who's gone thru thise results?

Thank you all..it has been a lake of tears last couple of days.  But tomorrow I'll see a specialist to get a sonogram and if I need further testing, it won't be until my 18th week ,which is 2 weeks from now...and it was high for spinabifida

I had my bloods come back that there was a 1 in 137 chance of my bub having downs.
They waited ti the 20 weeks scan to check for soft signs of downs and he is fine.
I refused the amnio as i said to the dr if bub has downs its not a problem.
They are beautiful children and have alot of love to give.

We were told downs, spinalbifia and a whole in her heart. They said she would have all three. But she was born normal.

Lots of times the screening tests come back abnormal. As odd as that sounds it is kinda normal. Relax which protien was off. My 3 year old came back with the Alpha 1 protien off which is spinabifida. She did have it but it was a small whole that closed on it's own. Worrying doesn't help just know that you will get through it. My daughter is a happy excited 3 year old now. She was primie but we got through it. She was worth it. So even if things feel wrong or look bad rhey can still turn out great. Oh and about 1/2 the time the screening test is wrong.

Yes, my DNA blood screening test (99% accurate) at 12 weeks came back positive for an extra chromosome. Many, many tears and what if's. It was a hard couple of weeks before I was able to have a amnio at 16 weeks and then wait for those results. Those results came back normal. The tears have since dried up and I'm choosing to believe the amnio is correct. I'm currently 23 weeks and will get an definate answer once the baby is born.
