Well actually no matter how well you handle stress, it does effect your baby...studies have shown that high stress during pregnancy translates to children who have a higher tendency to develop anxiety and depressive disorders later...when your stressed, your body kicks into fight/flight mode, which in turn is passed to the baby...which then when they ate put into stressful situations as they grow older, their bodies don't adjust as well and they are likely to exist severe anxiety. Studded have been done. I work for a psychology practice and am currently in school for my degree.

Lilmummysms is right. We have a tremendous ability to be resilient in the face of stressful situations. While they aren't comfortable or ideal they push us to be stronger than we knew we could be. I've seen some friends go through horribly stressful times while pregnant and I was in awe that they did so well and came out so healthy in the end. You can handle anything to set your mind to.

A lot! I was amazed, when my first partner died in a car accident I was 9 weeks pregnant I fully expected that I would loose my baby bcos of all the stress I was going thru, I stopped eating too. But she's here 6 years old now and was born fully healthy. Us women are strong when you think things couldn't get any worse and then they do, you will get thru it, and be stronger than you thought possible. I don't know what your going thru but I bet you will come out stronger on the other side and when your baby arrives it will help a lot too
