thumb suckers

I had an ultrasound today, at a free clinic i went just cause it was free and i wanted to see the baby again, anyways today the baby was moving and everything seems normal, he is growing at a normal pace i saw his hands and they were so cute... however my bf is a thumb sucker, has been since he was in his moms stomach and at times still does, i catch him lol i do tease him and he hates it he said he has tried to stop but just can't ...well today we see the baby and he kept tying to put his hands towards his face, which was so cute, but  im wondering if he is going to be a thumb sucker... what have you done that works to try to stop thumb sucking??

Thumb sucking in the womb isn't a bad thing... Baby is practicing the sucking motion/sucking instinct, good for when it comes time to breast feed.

The hospital I had my son 6yrs ago do not provide pacifier. They say it is a bad habit they can learn to kick it while babies.

Don't even consider stopping a baby from thumb sucking or pacifier use. It's a normal and useful behavior at that age. For me, it totally helped eliminate my smoking, so it may be good at any age, and I feel this way despite what it's done to my teeth. You probably know this since your bf ***** his thumb also.

Try pacifiers. People say they are not good for your baby because they get attached to them, but a pacifier is better for the baby then sucking a thumb or a finger. Its also better foor the babys teeth.
