to take tablets or not?

my doc prescribed:
Levocarnitine tablets - carnisure 500
for the cramps I get in my lower leg at night every once in ten days.

I've been taking one every night for 3 days now.

anyone knows if these are safe to take?

if it's any risk to my baby (I'm 28 weeks), I rather deal with the cramps in sum other way or live with them.

Thanks for sharing  :-)

thanks a lot ladies!

will see if I can try one of those other alternatives for that tablet. my doc doesn't have the best reviews and I'm planning to switch docs.

Your doctor is suppose to look out for yours and baby best interest.... ur cramps must be more severe than usual or else he would recommend these Vitamin supplements such as Calcium n Magnesium (recommended by my midwife).  My chiropractor mentiom that yellow mustard works wonderfully when you have cramps, it provides temporary relief... give that a try?

Studies show no harm to baby when taken in 2nd or 3rd trimester. No studies for the first trimester

I havnt heard of that medication but I had super bad leg cramps with my first baby and the doc gave me magnesium tablets, fixed those right up. They won't do any harm. My sister who isn't pregnant gets cramps has to dip her wet finger in salt and eat it an she swears it fixes her leg cramps.

I haven't heard of those meds sorry. I complained about leg cramps too around about 26wks and my ob said I could try a magnesium supplement if I wanted. I tried it for a little while but thought it made no difference. Now almost 32wks and haven't had a leg cramp at night or restless legs in a couple of weeks.
