Pregnant with my third child after previous miscarriage. Had my first scan today, all they could see was a gestational sac and a yolk sac is this normal? I'm five weeks and four days. Never had an ultrasound this early before. Please help!

My hcg was 9000 when they did it yesterday. My doc doesn't seem too concerned about it. Fingers crossed I see a heartbeat next Monday. Thank you everyone

Yes it's normal,  I also had two previous miscarriages before this pregnancy and got a scan at 7 weeks 3 days saw heartbeat :) I'm now 24 weeks and baby is perfect :) gl mama..

It's normal. If I remember correctly that all I seen my first visit as well... I'm considered high risk due having 3 prior miscarriages.  I was guven ultrasounds every week until 10 wks to make sure everything was fine.  Blood levels were also drawn every 2 days to make sure levels were doubling as well as being out on progesterone.

It can definitely be normal.  Were they concerned at the appointment?

Yes can be normal.  Usually they aren't able to actually see the baby until 6 to 8 weeks.  Did they check you hcg numbers?
